A while ago, I randomly entered some competition that I saw on XPN’s website - a “battle of the bands” style festival where musicians compete each night for six days to become one of six finalists who then compete for three grand prizes. I didn’t think I’d ever get in, but somehow I did.
I’m leaving Philly, not forever, but for a long time soon, but I’m gonna spend a few more days in Philly so that I can play in this festival, and in lieu of a proper going away party, I’d love it if you came to my show. Unless I get into the finals on Sunday, this will most likely be my last show in Philly, and I’m pretty sure winning this thing will just be a popularity contest, so stop by some time round 7 and cheer for me like Justin Bieber / Lady Gaga / The Replacements / Thom Yorke just walked on stage.
